Design Language
Kenya Hara’s design language is defined by a pursuit of restrained
minimalism, utilizing basic geometric forms (circles, squares,
rectangles) that harmonize with the environment. He prioritizes natural
and raw materials (wood, paper, cotton) to highlight inherent textures
and imperfections. This approach humanizes design, fostering a
sensory and emotional connection that balances functionality with
aesthetic resonance.
Design Characteristics
Kenya Hara organized the "Tactile" exhibition to prioritize touch over
sight, featuring naturally related materials that foster sensory
connection. His design philosophy champions timelessness over
fleeting fashion trends, aiming to create meaningful, practical designs
with enduring historical resonance.
