EGO’s Diamond Anniversary year of 2024 has been phenomenal.
EGO IS SOARING!
Because of the commitment, hard work and resilience from you, my
dear sorors, it has been an amazing and historical year for Epsilon
Gamma Omega (EGO) already! Firsts and more firsts and more firsts!

As we began the celebration of 75 years of sisterhood and service,
January welcomed our very first Joint Founders’ Day that was led by an
Under 30 Sister Squad who has not stopped soaring! Under the leader-
ship of Soror Mayah Robinson, this team spearheaded this amazing
event which included the attendance of Diamond Soror Kathryn Hig-
gins Robinson, a charter member of Gamma Mu.
Our 2024 AKA Day of Service was also postponed. But, what an evo-
lutionary event through the collaboration of our galvanizing Strengthen
our Sisterhood Vice Chairman, Soror Sharon Boclair and all of EGO’s
program Chairs, Initiative Vice-Chairmen, and members to facilitate
one of the most productive service days in our history! KUDOS! This
was the first time we had an all- inclusive Program/Initiative day, and it
was truly amazing!
Also in January, EGO partnered with ALABAMA A&M University for ‘Meet Me At the Altar.’ This was a
first time event that included a D-9 choir and band. The overall objective was to provide spiritual support to
the students as they came back from the Fall break—it was phenomenal. Special thanks to the Spiritual Sis-
terhood Connection led by Soror Anita Weathers—this will certainly be an annual event!
During our 65th Debutante Presentation and Ball Program, weather precluded the committee from the orig-
inally scheduled Mother Daughter Brunch. With the need to reschedule, time nor venue allowed for both the
brunch and the Hobby Talent Showcase to be conducted. With the collective ingenuity of the steering com-
mittee, led by Sorors Shirley and Latoyia Clemons, these events were consolidated into one and turned out
wonderfully – will be the path forward under this administration and a first!

The 65th Debutante Presentation and Ball evolved in time with many moments to remember. It was a stun-
ning and stellar event! The first time in EGO’s history, all the Debutantes were awarded a $500 book stipend
if they sold at least one digital ad- there were 26 $500 Book stipends in addition to our “normal” scholar-
ships. A Thank you doesn’t seem to be enough in recognizing Sorors Venita King, Paulette Williams, Cyn-
thia Benson and Demetrice White for their unselfish and unwavering service in instituting a remarkable year
in digital ads, but that’s all I have!
Sorors traveled to the 92nd South Eastern Regional Conference, held in Mobile, AL, and painted the city
pink and green! EGO, Gamma Mu and Omicron Zeta were recognized and brought back evidence of SOAR-
ING! Both EGO and Gamma Mu were recognized as the international soaring award recipients in their re-
spective categories! Additionally, EGO, for the first time in decades, was recognized as an EAF Platinum
sponsor!
