to live here. It’s not the baby’s fault you’re an idiot. I suggest you get on the phone
because I am cutting off all utilities in my name.” Some of the smugness drops off
her face since everything is in my name. I look over at the broke bassist who is now
fully dressed. “I hope your band makes it, because she is expensive.” I reach into my
wallet and pull out a fifty-dollar bill and wave it in Monty’s direction. “Do me a
favor, get her out of here for a while so I can pack in peace.”
“We don’t need your mon-”
“Thanks, man.” Monty takes the money, ending Cassie’s outburst. I laugh on
the inside. Looks like she will have to rejoin the workforce now.
“Cassie, I’ll arrange for a moving crew to get the rest of my stuff this weekend,
and you two can grind like bunnies all you want.”
“You’re just mad you’re bad in bed,” she rants like an ignorant teenager.
I raise a brow. She is either a wonderful actress in bed or a stellar liar when she

her as an authorized user. I report the debit card I gave her as missing. I cancel all
the auto-pays from my bank account: goodbye gym, automatic shoe service, phone
bill, and car payment. I change all my passwords and add security locks; no Netflix
and chill on my dime, Amazon Prime this, bitch. Sayonara, iTunes.
I pack up all the cable boxes, the internet modem, and a weeks’ worth of
clothing into my duffle bag then load it all including the flat screens and any other
item of value in the back of my SUV. Hell, I almost take her cellphone charger just
to be a petty asshole, but the baby saves her from that drama. She can have the
furniture, but nothing else.
I stop at the rental office to give them the last four months of rent. I do not
need dumb and dumber messing up my credit. I explain what happened to the
manager. I tell her that anything regarding the condo is now in Cassie’s hands. I
take her with me to perform a walk-through. Any further damage would be
