        1. Adrenaline

           A. Main action:


             CVS:  Increased  heart  rate  and  force  of  contraction  produce  an  increase  in  cardiac

               output. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) rises

             RS: Bronchial smooth muscle is relaxed resulting in bronchodilation (as it affects b2)

             Other: Adrenaline converts glucose from glycogen and raises blood sugar. Pupillary

               dilation (mydriasis) occurs.

        B. Indications:


           1.  Low cardiac output states

           2.  During cardiac arrest

           3.  Anaphylactic shock

           4.  Local anaesthetic

           5.  Bronchodilator for acute severe asthma attack

           6.  Septic shock
