B. Indications:
1. Deep venous thrombosis
2. Prophylaxis of deep venous thromboses
3. Pulmonary embolism
4. Acute arterial occlusion.
5. Acute myocardial infarction
6. Prevention of thromboses in surgery
7. In hemodialysis, as well as for the maintenance of open venous catheters.
C. Contraindication:
1. bleeding abnormality (eg, thrombocytopenia, platelet defect, peptic ulcer disease),
2. CNS lesion (eg, stroke, surgery, trauma), - spinal anesthesia or lumbar puncture,
malignant hypertension, and advanced retinopathy
3. Are pregnant.
4. Have a stomach ulcer.
5. Have had a bleed into the brain (a haemorrhagic stroke).
6. Take certain medicines that may interfere with your anticoagulant.
7. Have major bleeding and this is not being treated.
8. Are going to surgery where you might be at risk of a major bleed.
