INTRODUCTION

“Technology will not replace great teachers but technology in the hands of great

        teachers can be transformational”

The significance and usability of technology to teaching & learning has irrefutably impacted change and the
transformation in education, necessitating a technology inclusive ecosystem. A modern learning ecosystem (MLE)

recognizes this reality and embraces it to support the learning process. It can be described as a representation of the

interconnection of resources, technologies, tools, and the places where learning can happen.

Striving towards an MLE requires a change approach that supports a shift in mindset, a focus on people, content,

culture, strategy, and technology. (Sirkemaa, 2014) My ecosystem is an example of an evolving MLE which has

embraced the change as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic and continues in its efforts to strive towards a more

        futuristic and modern MLE.

In striving towards an MLE, it has monitored and evaluated progress using Tim Clarke's Digital Age learning

ecosystem model. Eight key elements form the basis of the model and my ecosystem has progressed with some

elements; “a sense of community, essential questions, assessment of learning, multiple technology tools, and a

        supportive classroom environment.”
