SECTION 4—ATTENDANCE POLICY
4.1 RECORDING WORK HOURS/WORK WEEK
All hourly employees are required to clock in/out, at the start of their shift, when leaving and coming back from lunch
break, and when done with their shifts. No employee may alter or otherwise modify his or her time record, record work
time for another employee, or alter or modify in anyway the time record of another employee. This is considered “Time
Theft” and any violation to this policy may lead to disciplinary action.
The Company deposits paychecks each Friday, on a weekly or monthly basis. Pay periods start on Monday morning at 12:01
a.m. and end on Sunday midnight. Therefore, each Friday, you will receive a paycheck for all hours worked in the pay period
ending the previous Sunday afternoon. Hourly employees will receive overtime pay at a rate of one-and-one-half times
their regular hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a workweek.
Employees are given a 30 or 60 minute lunch period depending on the employee’s daily work flow. Employees may leave
the premises for lunch but returning late from lunch is treated as tardiness. Lunch should be eaten during the lunch hour
only and not at the employee’s desk before or after the lunch hour. Employees are not paid for their lunch hours and should
sign/clock out during this time. Employees must receive approval from their supervisor if working through lunch.
Employees who are salaried and who are exempt from the overtime and minimum wage requirements of the Fair Labor
Standards Act may be asked to record their work hours, either by time clock or other means, for purposes of tracking
attendance and on-site staffing at retail locations. However, the pay of exempt, salaried employees will not generally vary
from week to week except in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws.
4.2 ATTENDANCE POLICY AND TARDINESS
A-MAX Auto Insurance expects all employees to conduct themselves in a professional manner during their employment.
This includes practicing good attendance habits. All employees should regard coming to work on time, working their shift
as scheduled, and leaving at the scheduled time as essential functions of their jobs, i.e., good attendance habits form an
integral part of every employee's job description.
Among other things, "good attendance habits" means the following:
• Appearing for work no sooner than 5 minutes prior to the start of the shift and no later than the start of the shift;
• being at your work station ready for work by the start of the shift;
• remaining at your work station unless the needs of the job require being elsewhere, except during authorized breaks
(including restroom breaks);
• taking only the time normally allowed for breaks;
• remaining at work during your entire shift, unless excused by a supervisor;
• leaving promptly at the end of your shift, unless you have been given advance permission from your supervisor to
work past that point; and
