tell him that he was not alone; his younger brother was there
to lessen his burden. With these thoughts, I had promised to
myself that my A2 will be on 100% scholarship.
When you fall you learn to stand up. Not getting straight A’s
in O-Levels taught me a lot, it gave me the strength to make
studies my friend which I would never have otherwise.
Travelling on public transport from Lalik Chowk (2 minutes
walk from my current house) to Beaconhouse Defence
Campus in Y block, the commute cost me Rs. 40 everyday. I
not only saved on travelling but also I would not spend more
than Rs. 30 at school. Everyday I would buy one peach juice so
my daily cost was Rs. 60. Sometimes, I would eat from my
friends to save money. My brother would give me enough
money but I knew his struggle so I wanted to do at least
something hence my motto in A1 was “scrimp and save”. Well,
to be very honest, me and my brother would always talk
about how one day we will be SOMEONE and then our story
will be told so I wanted to spice up things to make my life look
