                                                          Abstract:

Green betel leaves (Piper betle L.) and yellow turmeric rhizomes (Curcuma
domestica Val.) are herbal plants that are known to have antibacterial and
antifungal activity. This potential can be utilized in the formulation of solid
soap preparations as an alternative to chemical-based antiseptic soaps.
This study aims to obtain an optimal organic solid soap formula, "LavitZAM"
with a combination of ethanol extract of green betel leaves and yellow
turmeric rhizomes. The method used is an experimental method, with four
solid soap formulas containing variations in extract concentrations (F0: 0g,
                        F1: 1 g, F2: 2 g, F3: 3 g). The extraction manufacturing process is carried
out by the maceration method using 70% ethanol solvent. Physical
evaluation of soap preparations includes organoleptic test, pH test, water
level test, foam stability test, and skin irritation test. The test results showed
that all formulas had a solid texture, a pH within the safe range (±10), water
level test of <15%, and good foam stability. No skin irritation was found in
the user. Thus, "LavitZAM" solid soap meets solid soap quality standards
according to SNI 3532:2016 and has the potential to be developed as an
antiseptic soap product made from natural ingredients.

Keywords: formulation, solid soap, green betel leaf extract, yellow turmeric.
