PARTICULAR ELECTRICAL SPECIFICATION

1.1 INTRODUCTION

This specification is intended for use by Design & Build contractors employed to undertake
electrical works associated with kitchen up-grade works in McDonalds Restaurants. This
specification should be read in conjunction with the Technical Specification for Electrical
Installations Generally and typical sample installation drawings provided with the Tender
pack.

The content of individual projects will vary, the Electrical Contractor is to seek clarification of
the full scope for each individual project from the Project Manager, projects will be inclusive
of but not limited to the following core elements:

• Kitchen equipment modifications
 New prep table
 Centre island modifications
• Replacement counter
• Digital order and display system
• Digital tablet table

Projects may also be inclusive of the following additional items:

• Kitchen lighting modifications/replacement
• Freezer and chiller expansion
• Lobby and toilet up-grade
• Lobby expansion
• New lobby air lock and air curtain
• Managers office move
• Changes in the external car park, additional drive through lane
• Changes to the patio area and lighting
• Modification of the main supply to site

The Electrical Contractor should note that he will be responsible for producing Design and
Construction Drawings to meet the relevant British Standards and McDonalds Standard
Electrical Specification for this refurbishment for the review and approval of the Project
Manager.

Where required these Contractor Design Drawings must be submitted to Building Control for
their approval. It is important the Electrical Contractor submits this information to Building
Control at the earliest opportunity to incorporate any required modifications to the design.

This document should be used as a guide only and not as a ‘brief’ for the works, for more
detailed information on engineering requirements for electrical services in McDonalds
Restaurant refer to Technical Specifications for Electrical Installations Generally.
