• Fixings: As recommended by container manufacturer.
- Individual ties of lacing wire: Do not use.
• Assembly:
- Starting from top corner join edges of adjacent panels together in a continuous
operation.
- Join to adjacent units, above, below and on all sides.
- Provide all internal bracing, pre-tension mesh.
• Installation:
- Vertical joints: Staggered in adjacent courses.
- Lifting and placing of prefilled units: Use lifting frames and remove on
completion.
- Stepped constructions: Align bottom edge wire of upper baskets with a
longitudinal wire of mesh of lower baskets. Provide continuous lacing along all
horizontal joints at front and rear of wall.
• Filling:
- Maintain shape of basket during filling.
- Fill to full height in sequence recommended by manufacturer.
- Top mesh: To bear upon fill.
- Lid: Fix securely.
• Backfill: Place and compact at each course as work proceeds.

• Manufacturer: Contractor's choice.
- Product reference: Contractor's choice.
• Foundation condition at time of laying reinforcement: Clean and level with no
debris, projections, organic matter, soft material or material liable to damage the
reinforcement.
• Laying reinforcement:
- Backfill: Bring up to level and compact before installing each layer of
reinforcement.
- Jointing: Neatly abut adjacent sheets and connect to blocks as recommended
by block manufacturer. Do not protrude from front face of wall.
- Tensioning: Lay a minimum of two further courses of blocks and lightly tension the
reinforcement before placing and compacting the next layer of backfill
material.
