Drainage & Piped Services Standard Specification

Requirement: Submit proposals including detailed design drawings, technical information,
calculations and manufacturers’ literature.

Centralized hot water storage system
System design: Design the system to meet the following requirements.
Storage capacity: 300L
Standard:
Type of building: Restaurant.
Number of people: To be determined based on single or Two storey restaurant.
Primary heat source: Capable of raising temperature of water from 10°C to 60°C within one hour.
Temperature range of stored hot water: 60oC
Water supply: Direct from the mains cold water supply

Pipeline sizes for hot and cold water systems type B
Sizing: Calculate sizes to meet simultaneous demand for the building in accordance with Appendix
D or BS8558 EN 806-3. Submit proposals.
Performance:
Water velocity (maximum): 1.5 m/s for hot water and for cold water.

Electrical resistance trace heating system design
Standard:
Industrial and commercial applications: To BS EN 62395-1and IEC/TS 62395-2.
Explosive environments: To BS EN 60079-30-1andBS EN 60079-30-2.
Application: Freeze protection.
Environmental conditions: Ultra violet exposure.
Control and monitoring: Type II.
Temperature to maintain: 10oC
Minimum ambient temperature: -4oC
