3.0 Lane Layout and configuration

                                                                3.2 Merge point

                                                                The merge point should be designed so that cars have completed a successful merge back to single lane prior to
                                                                any corners within the DT lane after the SBS layout.

                                                                3.3 Primary and Secondary lanes

                                                                Each of the lanes must be determined as primary and secondary as this affects the till configuration. The primary
                                                                lane will be the one that customers are expected to use should both lanes be empty, perceived as the best,
                                                                quickest or shortcut. The secondary lane will be the other lane, although in a perfect scenario usage would be
                                                                50:50

                                                                3.4 Final COD positioning

                                                                Centre of COD to back tip of island will vary depending on distance and number of cars queuing between COD
                                                                and booths, but should be as near as possible to 3000mm.
                                                                The COD must be located along a suitable length of kerb to allow a car to park perpendicular immediately
                                                                adjacent the order point. This can be along a straight section of kerb, a left hand corner but any right hand
                                                                corners must contain a min 5000mm section of straight kerb at the COD position.
                                                                Consideration maybe given to staggered COD’s provided all other criteria is met.
