     March 16 , 1894: The 1  basketball game in Indiana was believed to be played in Crawfordsville.  The
                                     Crawfordsville YMCA defeated the Lafayette YMCA by a score of 45-21.
                                                   1900s



     1901: Crawfordsville has a record of 9-3 & is named the “un-official State Champion” of Indiana            .
     1902: Crawfordsville has a record of 5-2 & is named the “un-official State Champion” of Indiana.
     1903: Crawfordsville has a record of 6-1 & is named the “un-official State Champion” of Indiana.
     1904: Crawfordsville has a record of 13-2 & is named the “un-official State Champion” of Indiana.
     1907: Crawfordsville has a record of 12-0 & is named the “un-official State Champion” of Indiana.
     1909: Crawfordsville has a record of 17-1 & is named the “un-official State Champion” of Indiana.

     January 1910: Rosey Heron (Crawfordsville) scores 44 points to set the area’s Single Game Points record.


















     1911: Crawfordsville has a record of 16-2 & wins the first IHSAA Boys Basketball State   Championship defeating


               Lebanon in the championship game.
                     a.  The first IHSAA State Tournament was by invitation & was conducted at Indiana  University
                         in Bloomington.
                     State Finals Appearance: Crawfordsville, Lafayette Jeff
     December 1912: John Green (Crawfordsville) scores 48 points v. Terre Haute Wiley to set the area’s single game
                                 scoring record.
     1913: Wingate wins the IHSAA State Championship defeating South Bend in the championship game by a score
                of 15-14 in 5 OT.
                      a.  Homer Stonebraker (Wingate) scores either 80 pts. or 74 pts. v. Hillsboro.  The total is listed as 80
                        by the IHSAA, while the Journal Review (Crawfordsville) lists it as a 74 pt. game.  Either total
                        would be the area’s single game scoring record.

                     1  Team All-State: Homer Stonebraker (Wingate)
     1914: Wingate repeats as State Champions, defeating Anderson 36-8 in the final game.
                      State Finals Appearance: Burlington, Crawfordsville, Cutler, Darlington, Lafayette Jeff,
                                                                  New Richmond, Rensselaer, Rossville, West Lafayette, Wingate, Wolcott

     1915: Montmorenci is defeated in the state title game 33-10 by Thorntown.
                     a.  The format of the IHSAA State Tournament is changed & the first Sectionals are played.
                         Sectional champions will advance to the 16-team State Finals until 1920.
                     b.  James Alexander (New Richmond) scored 62 pts. in a game during the 1914-15 season.
                         There is no mention of who the opponent was (it is only mentioned in an article from
                         2013), thus no first-hand documentation substantiates this high scoring game.
