through the 1928 portion of the 1928-29 season.

1929: Frankfort wins their 2 State Championship under Everett Case, defeating Arsenal Tech 29-23.

a. Paul Lostutter & his Delphi Oracles finish w/ a 25-1 record & an undefeated regular season. They
will win the Sectional, before being defeated by Peru in the Kokomo Regional.

1931: Frankfort advances to the 16-team State Finals for the 11 consecutive year, setting a state record that still
stands.

1932: The Midwest Conference is formed.

1933: The Michigantown Ganders (Head Coach: Larry Farrell) finish w/ an undefeated regular season. They will
finish 27-1, after winning the Sectional & Regional, before being defeated in the State Finals by Logansport.

1 Team All-State: Ralph Vaughn (Frankfort)
1936: The “Center Jump” after each made field goal is eliminated.

a. Frankfort wins its 3 State Championship, defeating Fort Wayne Central 50-24 @ Butler
Fieldhouse.
b. The Semi-State round is added to the IHSAA State Tournament.

1937: Arthur Cohee’s Deer Creek Crickets finish w/ an undefeated regular season. They will finish 19-1, after
losing to Flora in the opening round of the Flora Sectional.

1 Team All-State: Bob Igney (Rossville)
1938: The West Point Cadets (Head Coach: Sherman Minnis) finish w/ an undefeated regular season. They will finish
26-1, w/ their only loss being to Lafayette Jeff in the Sectional Championship Game.
1939: Frankfort wins State Championship #4 w/ its victory over Franklin 36-22.

1 Team All-State: Charles Johnson & Lewis Cook (Frankfort)
a. The first Indiana All-Star Game is played in August 1939. The Indiana All-Stars will play the
reigning state champion Frankfort Hot Dogs. Rossville Head Coach Tom Downey is voted the
head coach of the All-Star Team. Doyal Plunkitt (Frankfort ‘26), Southport Head Coach, is
voted as the Assistant Coach.
b. Rensselaer absorbs Hanging Grove H.S. & the school becomes known as Rensselaer- Central.
