Wabash River Conference

The WRC was formed in 1964 by schools in Fountain, Montgomery, Parke, Vermillion, & Warren counties.

Wabash River Conference Timeline
1964: Wabash River Conference is formed.
Membership: Coal Creek Central, Covington, Ladoga, New Market, North Vermillion, Rockville,
Seeger Memorial, Turkey Run, Veedersburg
1965: Veedersburg consolidates into Fountain Central. Fountain Central joins the WRC.
1966: Attica joins the WRC.
1971: Coal Creek Central consolidates into North Montgomery. Ladoga & New Market consolidate into Southmont.
North Montgomery & Southmont join the WRC.
1973: The existing Seeger Memorial (Indians) consolidates w/ Pine Village & Williamsport to form the current
version of Seeger Memorial (Patriots). The new consolidation will maintain WRC membership.
1974: North Montgomery withdrawals from the WRC to join the Sagamore Conference.
1982: South Vermillion joins the WRC.
1985: Southmont withdrawals from the WRC to join the Sagamore Conference.
1986: Riverton Parke (Montezuma & Rosedale) is formed & joins the WRC.
1999: South Vermillion withdrawals from the WRC to join the Western Indiana Conference.
2016: South Vermillion re-joins the WRC.
2018: Rockville & Turkey Run consolidate to form Parke Heritage. The Wolves join the WRC.
Membership: Attica, Covington, Fountain Central, North Vermillion, Parke Heritage, Riverton Parke,
Seeger, South Vermillion
