Benefits of working with PSUK

The regular meetings with their PSUK account manager have been particularly
useful for Dr. Trotter and her team.

“I have found the regular account
                                                               meeting useful,”

she noted. Monthly sales reports provide detailed insights into expensive and
loss-making items purchased in previous months, helping the practice make
more informed purchasing decisions. Additionally, resources like PS magazine,
PSUK Top Tips, e-newsletter, and annual conferences have played a crucial role
in guiding the practice’s dispensary priorities.
                              Addressing challenges

One significant challenge faced by Brampton Medical Practice has been the
coordination of discounts and MDS schemes across its three sites. There
were instances where MDS schemes were not applied uniformly, leading to
discrepancies. With PSUK’s support, the practice has been able to optimise
these discounts and ensure consistency across all locations.

“PSUK have helped ensure our discounts
are optimised between the three sites,”

                              Professional development and educational programs

Dr. Trotter has actively participated in the educational programs and training
sessions offered by PSUK. Attending the North Conference was particularly
impactful, especially the presentations by Caroline Pond from Chase People
                              and Mark Gibbon from NHSBSA.
“Both of the talks have resulted in a
                                                          change in our practice,”

Dr. Trotter stated. The insights gained from these talks led to positive changes in
practice operations, including enrolment in a new digital FP34D pilot scheme.

                              Future expectations

Looking ahead, Dr. Victoria hopes to continue accessing profitability
information and advice on MDS schemes from PSUK. They are planning to
implement a PMR system in the practice and are interested in exploring the
Golden Tote solution if it is compatible with their PMR provider. Additionally,
Brampton Medical Practice would like to see more information on buying
                              products over Drug Tariff.

“Our surgery has asked for more information about buying products over
Drug Tariff and PSUK have been responsive with highlighting the over tariff
information on the Drug Tariff tab, but I hope this information becomes even
easier to follow on the ordering portal as it will help aid our decision making
                              about endorsing prescriptions.”

                                                                                                                    29
