Women’s health covers a variety of topics and multiple categories in
which pharmacy can support, including women’s intimate health and
hygiene, bladder weakness, sanitary protection, women’s vitamins,
skincare and general wellbeing.

Pharmacy customers are primarily women, whether attending for
themselves or on behalf of a family member, which opens up a great
opportunity to support women with various aspects of their health and
wellbeing, however the topic of intimate health can be an embarrassing
one for customers, making it difficult to ask for advice or openly discuss.
A well thought out category can offer the customer reassurance that
they’re in a professional environment and pharmacy can support with
the requirements of the customer. Ensure you’re equipped with the right
knowledge to discuss these intimate issues with your customers at their
convenience.
Due to the embarrassment, many women prefer to initially self-serve
when searching the intimate health category but may still require advice
and assistance. To help them feel more confident when browsing, it is
useful to display self-help cards at the fixture, providing advice about
symptoms, top products and treatments, everyday health and when to
see your pharmacist/GP for further advice.

As women prefer a discreet method of shopping the category; choosing
their solution away from the hustle and bustle of the pharmacy, you
should position the category in a quiet area with a range of self-serve
material. There is the opportunity to display products in three sections
of the pharmacy; with your GSL medicines, behind the counter with your
pharmacy medicines and within your feminine care bay.
It is useful to dual site intimate health products in the feminine protection
category for women to find all their intimate health needs in a single
place. If you wish to include P meds on your feminine hygiene fixture, of
course you will need the necessary equipment such as dummy boxes.
