Shaping the future:
Your voice on new Hub and
Spoke Dispensing Proposals
Adam James, Senior Consultancy & Specialised
Proposition Manager
I’ve seen firsthand the immense pressure the
healthcare sector is under. Staffing shortages,
recruitment difficulties, and the constant struggle to
find time for essential tasks have placed significant
strain on healthcare providers. Having spoken to PSUK
members at study days, conferences, and in meetings,
it’s clear that the pressure they face is evident.
Furthermore, advancements in the processes involved in dispensing
medications, a critical component of patient care have not kept paced
with the growth in NHS items, this is contributing to the pressure felt by
dispensary teams.
Current legislation compounds these issues by restricting the assembly
of medicines across different legal entities , which could potentially offer
dispensing practices efficiencies. Dispensaries are forced to dispense
within their own bricks-and-mortar locations, creating inefficiencies
and bottlenecks. This rigid framework hinders the ability to optimise
resources and streamline operations, ultimately impacting the quality
and speed of patient care.
PSUK is at the forefront of addressing these issues by implementing
innovative solutions designed to streamline the dispensing process and
enhance efficiency.
The Golden Tote solution
In response to these mounting challenges, we
have developed innovative solutions like Golden
Tote to streamline the dispensing process and
enhance efficiency. Golden Tote utilises barcode
technology for the assembly of medicines,
improving efficiency ensuring quicker, more
accurate dispensing. This not only supports you
in managing your workloads but also improves
patient outcomes by reducing wait times and
ensuring the timely delivery of medications
