Management may consider extenuating circumstances when
determining discipline for a no-call/no-show (for instance, if the
employee is in a serious accident and is hospitalized) and has the right
to exercise discretion in such cases.
Procedures for Discipline
No disciplinary actions will be taken without the direct
involvement of the General Manager. All warnings will be delivered
by the Project Manager and/or the General Manager. Management
reserves the right to use its discretion in applying this policy under
special or unique circumstances. Although occurrences will roll off an
employee’s record after six months, habitual offenders (those who
have established a pattern of absences, such as consistently having six
or more occurrences in any given six-month period or routinely calling
off on Mondays or Fridays) may trigger step discipline even though
six-month old infractions have fallen off, if he or she continues to incur
occurrences. Management reserves the right to amend or discontinue
this policy and other policies at any time without notice.
Dress Code
The dress code for job sites is designed first and foremost for
safety reasons. The type of clothing that is required of workers and
visitors is intended to protect these individuals from the dangers of
construction sites.
Clothing:
Most job sites require workers to wear either short-sleeve shirts or
long-sleeve shirts. Workers that wear long-sleeve shirts must fit snugly
and not be baggy in any way. Baggy shirts have the potential to get
stuck in moving machinery and can cause harm to workers. Workers
and visitors must also wear long pants versus shorts. Long pants also
can help protect a worker's legs from getting harmed. Clothing must
also be respectful of the company image. High visibility shirts in
yellow or orange or reflective safety vests must be worn for your
protection allowing others to notice you.
