P. 54
Employees with three or more consecutive days of excused absences
because of illness or injury must give Precision Underground proof of
physician’s care and a fitness for duty release prior to returning to
work.
Employees must take earned PTO for every absence unless otherwise
allowed by the company policy (i.e. leave of absence, bereavement,
jury duty) or upon approval from the General Manager.
Tardiness and Early Departures
Employees are expected to report to work and return from scheduled
breaks on time. If employees cannot report to work as scheduled, they
must call the Project Manager no later than their regular starting time.
This notification does not excuse the tardiness but simply notifies the
supervisor that a schedule change may be necessary.
Employees who must leave work before the end of the scheduled shift
must notify their Project Manager immediately.
Arrival and departure times are recorded by the supervising Foreman.
An employee is considered late if he or she reports to work more than
five minutes after the scheduled starting time; an early departure is one
in which the employee leaves before the scheduled end of his or her
shift.
Tardiness and early departures are each one-half an occurrence for the
purpose of discipline under this policy.
If an employee is scheduled to work overtime and either fails to report
or reports after the scheduled start time, an occurrence will be charged
as noted above.
Discipline for Absences and/or Tardiness
Both verbal and written warnings serve to notify the employee
that he or she is in violation of the Company’s policy and additional
occurrences will result in further disciplinary action.
Occurrences of Unexcused Disciplinary Action
Absences in Six Month Period
Two occurrences Documented verbal warning
