Attendance
The Company is a service company; it provides important and
valuable products and services to people. To accomplish this mission,
it is imperative that every employee be present and ready to work when
scheduled to fulfill customer expectations. Punctual and regular
attendance is an essential responsibility of employees at Precision
Underground.
This policy details how absences and tardiness are counted for the
purposes of progressive discipline.
Request and Approval of Paid Time Off (PTO)
The Company awards its employees with Paid Time Off
(PTO) days throughout the year. PTO and holidays must be scheduled
with the Project Manager in advance (at least 24 hours for one or two
days; two weeks’ notice for three or more consecutive days). Only PTO
hours (where available) may be used in the case of emergency or
sudden illness without prior scheduling.
To schedule PTO, the employee must request approval in advance from
their supervisor by emailing pto@precisionunderground.com . Each
request for use of PTO will be reviewed based on several factors,
including the Company’s business need and staffing requirements. If
approved the employee will receive an email confirmation. Failure to
follow this scheduling procedure will mean that an employee will be
considered absent from work without approval and will be subject to
discipline, up to and including termination at the discretion of
management. Any leave requested due to stress, anxiety, or other
mental health issues will be handled in the same manner as other
requests for PTO. Contact the General Manager with questions.
Employees that have requested a PTO day(s) may be required to use
those hours even if the employees have exceeded 40 hours of work in
the week of the requested PTO day(s). The purpose of this is to allow
proper scheduling of employees for job completion.
Medical Leave
Because of the Company’s small size, we are not required to
comply with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”).
