16th Street, east of Illinois Street The shared street design should be allow for emergency vehicles and Mines  delivery vehicles. A good example of a shared street is 16th Street between  Illinois and Cheyenne Streets.   Necessary precedent projects: None  Enabled projects: None



















                                                 The Mines campus was constructed within the City of Golden street grid.
                                                   The campus is very compact and walking is the best method to circulate

                                          STREET RECONSTRUCTION – SHARED STREETS



                                                         among academic, research, residential, office, and recreational uses. As the  density of campus facilities and student enrollment increase, the number of  pedestrians will increase. In locations where vehicular through streets on the  interior of campus, the number of pedestrian/vehicle conflicts will increase.  Public vehicular circulation will continue through campus on designated roads  – Elm Street, Illinois Street, 17th Stree
