supplement their learning needs. Secondly, the instructional program/LMS must
capture student data, this relates that the selected Learning Management System
(LMS) tool must record student progress at a fairly granular level, this will teachers to
view data which shows which students have completed each skill area, and which
students have encountered an obstacle and require an individual or small group direct
instruction. Thirdly, the LMS should recommend next steps for the teacher, with
technology-based tools gathering data on student progress in real-time, teachers can
access fairly enough information on each student’s performance. Then lastly, the LMS
should provide resources for teacher-led instruction this is to ensure that an effective
blended learning implementation is to select instructional resources that help the
teacher to connect performance data to instructional strategies, the idea is to help the
teacher to understand not only which students need support, but to also help the
teacher understand exactly how to support them.
Active & engaging approaches during blended learning
The emphasised that students should be actively engaged to allow them to feel
connected to the class as well as subject matter and not just be a passive spectator is
well document. Constructivism as a theory is being implemented more frequently now
that there is a big shift in the student-centered approach.
The Constructivism theory is based on the idea that people construct their knowledge
through their personal experience. Therefore the role of the teacher in a constructivist
theory is to try to understand how students interpret knowledge and to guide and help
them to refine their understanding and interpretations to correct any misconception
arises between students at an early-stage and improve learned knowledge quality.
