DCH-IMPACT

The DCH-Impact Defensive Driving Course
is a free hands-on, 2.5 hour program for
teens and parents that includes classroom
instruction of motor vehicle mainte-
nance and safety issues. The program is
designed to be a supplement to standard
driving education courses with real-time
opportunities to learn about defensive
driving, the impact of distractions, and
safe habits. Teens and parents learn the
dangers of wreckless and distracted driv-
ing, the importance of good communica-
tion between them, and the importance of
vehicle maintenance.

CONFERENCES

The Foundation hosts semi-annual meet-
ings for supported SADD Chapters to
discuss strategies and share ideas and
best practices with each other. East coast
meetings, led by Pamela Clark, provide
students with tools to raise awareness and
educate their peers about the importance
of recognizing and avoiding destructive
decisions.

During the conferences, held each fall
and spring in New Jersey and California,
students create action plans for pro-
jects during the school year, share best
practices and other ideas to call attention
to auto-related tragedies and dangerous
