Describe your logistics experience.
I have had responsibility for all stockrooms, transportation, and logistics for Final Phase in Savannah. This
encompasses all stockroom, floor support, and transportation support staff. Projects I have lead include stockroom
5S improvements, FIFO/LIFO improvements, inventory reduction and management, free stock floor inventory
management, and kitting.
Describe your procurement and vendor management experience.
In addition to vendor/supplier management, I have extensive experience in all procurement activities. I have lead
commodity teams that are responsible for complex manufacturing processes that have to meet stringent FAA
requirements. These teams included Composites, Seats, Soft Goods, Mechanical Components, Electrical
Components, Propulsion, Major Aircraft Systems, Raw Material, Electro-Mechanical Components, Standard Catalog
Material, Interiors, Avionics, New Program Development, MRO and Product Support.
I have negotiated contracts across all the above listed commodities as well as implemented new supplier quality
management processes at Gulfstream, ultimately driving PPM (Parts Per Million) rejection numbers to an all-time
low. The items listed below are a summary of my major accomplishments, managing suppliers.
Established Quality Tracking and Reporting System using Defects Per Million.
90% reduction in shortages over 12 months.
Established Supplier KPI GEMBA processes using LEAN & Six Sigma.
Implemented Plan for Every Part strategy to manage inventory levels, finished goods, min/max
Executed strategic cost out process that produced $29.6M of savings in one year through innovative
strategic sourcing while reducing shortages and on-hand inventory by $105M.
Improved cost out project deck to a total of $65M worth of projects.
What type of company is best and worst for you? Describe a position you held that you should not have accepted.
The best company for me is a learning organization that is flexible and adaptable to change, while ensuring the
mission is accomplished. A supportive leadership team and a culture that embraces diversity of thought and
encourages innovation would be highly desirable.
The worst company for me would be an organization that is not supportive of its team members and not fully
dedicated to the mission. Leadership that is disengaged and does not communicate consistently to all levels of the
organization would also be unsatisfactory.
Very quickly after joining the Supply Chain Team at Cessna I was promoted to a Supervisor of the Indirect Buyers. I
should not have accepted the role. At that point, in my career, I had a minimal amount of Supply Chain Training and
virtually no supervisory experience. If it were not for strong team members who were patient with me and
leadership who mentored me, I would have completely failed.
