6.TRAPEZOID

Look at the picture of the traditional house above!

The shape of the lower roof of the house is called a trapezoid. Now look at

the sides of the trapezoid on the roof of the house! What can you say? Of

course you say that the upper and lower sides of the trapezoid are parallel

and the other side is not.

Based on your observations above, you can define a trapezoid as follows.
A trapezoid is a quadrilateral that has exactly one pair of parallel

opposite sides. A trapezoid is a quadrilateral that has exactly one pair

The quadrilateral ABCD on the side is a

trapezoid ABCD. Sides AB and DC are called
