Expectations of the Auditee
• Those being audited, or representatives of the site being audited, should
conduct themselves in professional and courteous manner. Build a
relationship with the Auditor.
• Engage in the audit process – wherever possible give it your full attention for
the agreed timescales. Ask Questions - Take the audit as an opportunity to
further educate yourself in the requirements imposed on us by the
approvals we hold.
• Ensure the opening and closing meeting have appropriate attendance
including the auditees and QS Manager.
• If required, provide a host to accompany the auditor and guide them to
individuals / areas to be audited.
• Be open and honest with the auditor – Internal Audits are a key process for
achieving continual improvement of our QMS.
• Support any auditor pre audit planning and requests for documentation as
this will make for a smoother audit.
• During the audit make the required stakeholders available.
• Audit findings can be contested during the audit, where additional evidence
of conformity can be demonstrated to the auditor. Findings can not be
contested at the closing meeting.
• Conduct robust RCCA activities for issues that are reported. Submit and
close them within the identified timescales.
• Remember It is understood that the QS audits are not considered to be an
all encompassing assessment of the Quality Management System, as the
QS audits are based on sampling. All employees need to take responsibility
for compliance and be open and honest if they find a potential Non
Conformance.
