Improve the Quality of Education Through E-

Introduction
To realize the vision of Saudi Arabia in 2030, the contribution of the education
sector is very essential. The Human Capital Development Vision Realization Program
aims to improve the outputs of the education and training system at all stages from
early education to continuous education and provide training to reach the
international levels through education, rehabilitation, and training programs that keep
abreast of modern times and requirements and are in line with the needs of
development and the local and global labor market in partnership with all relevant
parties locally and internationally. The program also contributes to the development
of all components of the education and training system, including teachers, trainers,
faculty members, governance, evaluation systems, quality, curricula, educational and
vocational paths, and training environment for all stages of education and training to
cope with modern and innovative trends in the fields of education and training (Saudi
Vision 2030). The main objective of the present research is to establish microteaching
as one of the easiest and beneficial training techniques based on the teacher trainees’
realtime teaching experiences in English language classrooms via an e-learning
platform.
Microteaching is a teacher training and faculty development technique
whereby the teacher reviews a recording of a teaching session, to get constructive
feedback from peers and/or students about what has worked and what improvements
can be made to their teaching technique. Microteaching was invented in the mid1960s
at Stanford University by Dwight W. Allen and has subsequently been used to develop
educators in all forms of education (Wikipedia). There are other definitions of
microteaching such as “Scaleddown teaching encounter in class size and class time”
(Allen, 1967) Microteaching is a technique that aims to prepare teacher trainees for
the real classroom setting Microteaching is especially used in teachers’ preservice
education to train them steadily by letting them to tryout main teacher performances
and conducts. With the help of this technique, the teaching assistants can experiment
and learn all the teaching skills without meeting the chaotic environment of the
crowded classrooms.
Microteaching technique is an application that makes video recordings possible
as a result of developing the technology. Audio and visual technology is an effective
and reflective tool in preservice teaching education. Video recordings provide
preservice teacher trainees with an opportunity to evaluate themselves by exposing
them to more real teaching experiences. The video recordings affect the perspectives
