INTRODUCTION

Executive Committee members represent the interests of AYO and its players, and are entrusted to
ensure that AYO is soundly managed. This Manual has been prepared to assist in that responsibility.

The governance role of the Executive Committee focuses on AYO’s goals and objectives and the
Executive Committee supports the Music Director in achieving those goals and objectives.

The policies and procedures contained within this Manual align the organisation’s operation with:
 the Rules of the Society
 various legal requirements (e.g. health & safety)
 being a NZ-Registered Charity (e.g. best management practice)

The Manual has been approved by the Executive Committee and the policies contained herein are
subject to review every three years.
