Meet Ken Baxter AM
Ken Baxter was a long‐time public servant who was
appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for
significant service to public administration and
agricultural reform.
Ken was a part‐time Commissioner with the
Productivity Commission from 2015 and held senior
roles in the Commonwealth, Victorian and NSW
Governments and had a major hand in
reconstruction, funding, sale, re‐organisation and
operation of government organisations.
He has also fostered reform in the energy, transport
infrastructure and agricultural sectors in Australia,
Papua New Guinea. South‐East Asia and the Indian
sub‐continent.
Ken is the first person since federation to have served
as Secretary of the Premier’s Department in both
NSW and Victoria and has been a senior policy advisor
in the Prime Minister’s Department in Papua New
Guinea.
He was also a Commissioner for the National
For The Diary Transport Regulatory Inquiry and a long serving
member of the Tasmanian Hydroelectricity

Ken has been married to his lovely wife Annabel for
17 March St Patrick’s Day over 30 years and they have two sons, Alistair and

Ken loves sailing and has competed in three Sydney to

ancient literature. In the past Ken loved to travel to

18 April Easter Monday Ken is a dab hand at painting and has joined our Art
25 April ANZAC Day Therapy Class. He is a great fan of “good food” and
confesses to disliking spiders! Ken has made some

new friendships since residing at Lansdowne Gardens
8 May Mother’s Day and has become especially close to a couple of
resident lorikeets!
