Herbivores
Herbivores like cow, goat, deer, etc that
feed on plants. They have sharp incisors for
biting and broad molars for grinding the
food. Smaller herbivores like rabbit, rat and
squirrel nibble nuts and fruits with their
sharp front teeth and are called rodents. Cow Squirrel
Carnivores
Carnivores like tiger and lion have sharp,

their prey.
Lion Tiger
Omnivores
Omnivores like human beings and bears
have well-developed teeth that help them
to eat both plants and flesh of other
animals. Birds like crow have strong beaks
that help their omnivorous eating habits. Bear Crow
Some birds have beaks specially designed to catch their
food. Hawks and owls have hooked beaks, while the
beaks of duck have broad notched for scooping and
straining mud. The beaks of sparrows are short and
straight and are useful for crushing seeds.

Different insects have different types of mouth parts. Butterflies have a long,
tubular sucking mouth part called proboscis. It remains coiled like a watch

flowers, it uncoils the proboscis. Mosquitoes have piercing and sucking
mouth part adapted for sucking blood.
Frogs have a sticky tongue fixed in front and free
