Migration
Migration is the large scale seasonal movement of birds and animals from one
habitat to another in search of food, better weather, or for reproductive needs.
The Siberian crane flies thousands of kilometres to reach India in winter and
go back to Siberia in summer.
The Eel is one of the best known migratory fish. It spends its life in fresh water
until adulthood and then travels to the Sargasso Sea in the North Atlantic to
breed.
Locusts are destructive migratory insects. They migrate in swarms in search
of food. They eat and destroy standing crops.

Eel Arctic tern
The Arctic Tern travels 17000 km every year from the Arctic to the Atlantic in
winters. It goes back during summers.
The Monarch butterfly flies from Canada to Mexico during winters and back
during summers.
