Desalination plants consist of :
1- Beach wells are constructed on the beachside in the form of vertical
boreholes. The sandy soil is used as natural prefiltration and thus a better
feed water quality is obtained. [10]
2- Pre-treatment: is to remove particulates, debris, microorganisms, suspended
solids, and silt. And add chemicals to avoid scaling problems.
3- Desalination unit: Thermal or RO units.
4- Post-treatment: to adjusting PH ( 6.5 -8.5 ) for freshwater.
5- Freshwater storage: Keep freshwater away from any pollutants until it is used.
