In RO we need to apply high pressure on saline water to opposite the natural and
passed fresh eater from high concentration to low concentration region through a
semi-permeable membrane.

2- Electrodialysis Reversal EDR :
is a process in which electrical energy is applied on electrodes to pull salts through
an ion exchange membrane from saline water to freshwater.
EDR produces two streams:
a- low salinity freshwater.
b- high salinity concentrate.
In the reversal process, the polarity of the electrodes is opposite in fixed intervals
to decrease the formation of scale [8].
