LOCKOUT TAGOUT
SPECIALIST TECHNICAL SERVICES
● LOTO is required for all workers during servicing
maintenance, or installation of new equipment and
switchgear to ensure the safety of those working on or
near hazardous energies.
● LOTO is required when working on an energised system
or a system with the potential to become energised.
● Proper LOTO will prevent hazardous energies being
unintentionally released.
● Must always check for possibility of dual energy
sources? Such as generators, UPS etc.
● Ensure LOTO is attached to the energy control point(s)
in the OFF position.
● Only Authorised Persons are allowed to perform
authorised lockout/tagout. A Permit is required.
● Each person shall use one approved lock & tag, with
only one key that is kept on person, for each Energy
Control Point.
