Scissors Lift or Boom Hoist
● Remember different types of training for different types of MEWPS
i.e. scissors & boom. Don’t assume people are trained on both!
● Not for access/egress from one platform to another.
● Spotters are required in certain areas.
● If too windy, don’t use.
● Ground conditions need to be suitable.
● Need to be aware of environmental hazards (services etc).
● Daily pre-use inspection required by the user.
● 7 day inspection by competent person.
● Must be certified to use 6 monthly inspected (or as the countries
regaulartory requiremnts).
● You must read and understand all the hazards and control
measures as detailed in the risk assessment
● Emergency plan required for use.
