CARRYING OUT ACCESS WORK AT HEIGHT
SPECIALIST TECHNICAL SERVICES
● Must be the last option! Must explore every
other type of access i.e. hoists, mobile
towers, scaffolds.
● Must be Permitted STS HS 56 permit.
● Safe access & egress required i.e. straight
ladder tied off securely.
● Anchorage points are critical. Never tie off
to services.
● 100% tie off – double inertia reel.
● Must crawl at all times – 3 points of contact
– never walk!
● Plan your route – methodical.
● Enough access points for access &
emergency.
● Rescue plan is a must!
