July 17-20, 2016

AASBO offers three professional development courses this summer as part of the association’s
Educational Program curriculum. These four-day courses are open to anyone who has an interest in
school business management. For the summer of 2016, AASBO is pleased to offer several options.
The dates for all three classes are July 17-20, 2016. They will be held at the Casino Del Sol located
at 5655 W. Valencia Rd., Tucson, AZ 85757. Classes begin at 8:30 am and end at 4:30 pm each day.
All AASBO Education Classes consist of 32 clock hours of instruction. Enrollees may also earn
community college credit by satisfying the course requirements and payment of an addition-
al registration fee for credit through Central Arizona College. For enrollment and registration

summer just prior to the start of the AASBO 63rd Annual Conference and Exposition:

Budget & Finance
This course provides the student with a working knowledge of the budgetary process in Arizona
public schools and an understanding of preparation of required state budget forms.

Purchasing
This course provides the student with a working knowledge of the principles, processes, and re-
quirements of school district procurement and materials management. The student will be pro-
vided with an overview of the rules, regulations, and statutes that apply to school district procure-
ment. Through lecture and practical application, the student will gain knowledge and experience
that will transfer directly to the school business office.

Advanced Maintenance & Transportation
Participants will be provided with an overview of the responsibilities associated with maintenance
and operations and transportation departments and activities.
