Marine organisms are classified based on their life pattern:
 Planktonic organisms / Drifters (movement dependent on current flow)
 Benthic organisms / Bottom dwellers
 Nektonic organisms / Active swimmers
 Aquatic plants / seaweeds / algae

Human’s interest in exploiting resources from the marine environment probably
started the time he/she first set eyes on it (Karleskint et al. 2006).
