1. Make an overhand knot a couple inches from the end of the line.
Bring the tag end through the hook eye, and back through the
overhand loop, as shown here.
2. Draw up this knot against the hook eye—loosely. Make another
overhand knot around the standing line.
3. Moisten the knots and pull the lure or fly by the hook bend, causing
the first overhand knot to jam up against the second. Clip the tag
end.
