The words come mechanically and without interruptions. Hamson is noticeably

                   proud.
"That's all," he says stiffly, leaving the room.

“Well, I also have to see to get going. Shouldn't we say that tonight's press

conference could be held at City Hall in the Great Manor? We can expect more
than twice as many journalists this time, as well as other curious townsfolk.

People, both from the port committee and the trade stand, are very likely to

show up and expect answers. And the sponsor of the pier's amusement park is
sure to want an explanation as well, ” the mayor says jadedly.

“Well, well, agreed. In a little while I will go up on the first floor and stretch my
legs for about half an hour. It looks like I can count on having to work nonstop

for at least the next 24 hours. ”

It is as if the Chief of Police has regained his fighting spirit. Hamson is his safe-
card, so now it's all about putting the last pieces into place, so the honour of the

                   police is preserved.

“If only I could boast of having people like Hamson in the mayor's office. Well,
I'll see if I can come up with something. I’ll see you later tonight. "

                                                           ***

George sits and nods off on the couch; he interchangeably looks at the TV then

closes his eyes while moving back and forth in a odd way.
"Oy, Georgie, are you awake?" Janokovic says. The children's movie with the two

giant trolls has ended, and instead a Donald Duck-cartoon has started.

"Drink your tea and I'll follow you home."
Janokovic looks with a combination of suspicion and annoyance at George; it

doesn't seem like he hearing his voice. Jano is getting impatient at this point. He

                   wants to leave.
At the same time, the sound of the strange new doorbell that Jack has installed

is now buzzing. It sounds like some sort of distorted laughing-machine. Jack and
Mom agree that it is immensely fun because it is different. Even though the
