Here is the finished Six-Strand Round Sinnet. Note
that the lower left section has been left a little
looser and the upper right section a little tighter
on the final fairing.
The next method produces a Half-Round Six-
Strand, which looks a little more beefy than the
Five-Strand Half-Round sinnet and is also less
flexible: Take the upper right
(#6) behind all to
3 the left, between
new #1 and #2, and
over two to the
right.
1 Strands are laid out
three left and three
right.
Repeat Stages 2 and 3
2 Take the upper left desired length.
4 until you reach your
behind all to the
right, between #5
and #6, then left
over #4 and #5.
Other colour layouts at the start will produce
spiral or alternating chevrons – try some out for
yourself!
Left: A long interlocking chevron appears on the
back of the piece.
Middle: From the side, the neat one-way
chevron is easily seen.
Right: A close-up of the shape of
Six-Strand Sinnet shows the
alternating chevron
pattern (half are pointing
up the piece and half
are pointing down)
along its length.
