11 the right cord has
now been pulled
down into place and
the knot is ready
for the last part.
8 Here the right cord has been tightened to
remove the slack. the left cord is now passed
under itself, over the bight legs and down into
the bight formed in the last step by the right
12 down in front to
cord. Pass the left cord
parallel the right
cord. tighten and
fair the knot.
9 Here the left and right cords have been
tightened to remove the slack. note that the
top and bottom of the knot now have a balance
of one square knot and one granny Knot each.
The Long Plafond
Knot includes one
more flat knot each
side, bringing some
greater balance to
the knot. This knot
may also be made
horizontally.
10 Pass the right-side cord behind the right
leg of the first bight and down through
the middle of the lower knots, under their
three crossings.
