TRANSFER OF STOCK Section 3 Divorce
In the event an Individual Shareholder shall become divorced; the Divorced Spouse of the Individual
Shareholder membership may apply for membership. Such membership shall be a Restricted Voting
Membership with no stock ownership, shall not be transferable, and shall terminate upon the new member’s
death or marriage. If approved for membership, the Divorced Spouse shall pay no initiation fee; shall pay the
same dues as an Individual Shareholder and have full use of the Club facilities.
Proposed Change:
If an Individual Shareholder divorces; the Divorced Spouse of the Individual Shareholder may apply for
membership. Such membership shall be one of the following categories: Active Shareholder, Corporate,
Junior, Non-Resident, Military. If approved for membership, the Divorced Spouse shall pay the initiation
fee associated with the category in which they are applying for membership, shall pay the dues amount
per membership category and shall have access to the Club Facilities applicable to their category of
membership. No category of membership may be transferred by divorce decree or awarded by such. The
membership will remain in the current member’s name and the spouse’s access to the Club would be
terminated.
Explanation for Proposed Change:
This proposed change is to ensure that the club is operating as a business and to protect the club from outside
legal conflict that might take place between a member and their spouse. The club should hold sole discretion to
who becomes a member and how that membership is granted.
