HORIZON, 2020-21

As gregarious creatures who thrive on community

                and function through communication, everything
we knew about how to lead our lives changed

                within months.

It’s hard to believe that we are still battling this

virus and even harder to imagine the plight of
those who have had to experience its harrowing

effects firsthand. But whether or not you were

personally affected by COVID, it’s safe to say that
everyone out there adapted themselves and their

lives to meet the status quo. As recent high school
graduates, we walked out of school excited to

begin a new journey of discovery but were soon

to travel to college and begin the next phase of our

lives. At long last, the virus began to taper slightly

                and our results were announced.

We were now engaged in a frantic race to
complete our application process and secure a

good college for ourselves. Many of us were

unable to join our dream college and many others
were forced to take a gap year and wait in hope

for the virus to pass. Soon, our next hurdle was
presented. Online learning was a herculean task. It

was beyond tough on both the teacher as well as

the student to adapt to this method of un
