Agri-Kind
Cannabis
Growing Facility
CHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA
Agri-Kind received the green light from the Pennsylvania Department of Health to
begin cannabis cultivation in Chester, Pennsylvania. Agri-Kind is one of the thirteen
(13) new cultivators that were recently issued permits by the Department of Health.
For the project, the Agri-Kind will build a new 62,000-square-foot state of the art
facility in Chester, Pennsylvania. The new growing facility will also support and
leverage Agri-Kind’s technology for drug research, cannabis growing, extraction
and product development.
Design of the new facility required that the design team address a variety of
government regulations, high security requirements and the technology required to
successfully grow high quality plants. Today’s growing facilities use modern
agriculture to enhance several key facets of production for cultivators.
DEDC was selected to provide mechanical and electrical engineering and design
services for the project. Our effort included researching and evaluating HVAC,
plumbing and lighting systems for this unique facility. DEDC evaluated the
available system options, selected the best options and presented our findings with
recommendations to the project team. Once the MEP systems were selected,
DEDC assisted with all aspects of the design and permitting process.
Construction documents for the new facility have been completed and construction
is expected to begin shortly.
