Brownfield Redevelopment
History Landmark Engineering, Inc. was founded in Delaware in 1987 to provide planning, civil Environmental/Wetlands
engineering/site design, and survey services to public and private clients and multidisciplinary
design teams. Environmental science disciplines were added in 2009 through a corporate merger that brought experienced
scientists, allowing for the diversification of services. We now do business as (d/b/a) “Landmark Science & Engineering.”
Services are provided to assist with the entire land planning/site development process through the construction phase:
Site selection, due diligence, Phase I/II environmental site assessments (ESA);
Wetland, forest, habitat, bog turtle investigations, environmental permitting; brownfields and site remediation;
Land surveying (perimeter & topo.), construction-phase stakeout and as-builts; Certified construction review;
Civil/site, water resources, and transportation engineering (schematic design through design development);
Stormwater management BMP/ESD design, stormwater as-built surveys and facility inspections;
Agency approvals, construction documents; assistance with cost estimates, bidding, construction administration;
Value-Added Integrated Science and Engineering. Engineering disciplines include all aspects
of site design including grading, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater management STAFF QUALIFICATIONS
best management practices (BMP/ESD), erosion and sediment control, sanitary sewer analysis Technical staff (30)
and design, street and entrance design, water resources evaluation and design, and supporting Civil Engineers
structural design. Science disciplines include wetland and forest stand delineations, wetland Water Resources Engineers
mitigation, forest conservation plans, rare species investigations/bog turtle investigations, land Environmental Engineers
and water remediation projects, GIS mapping, permitting and regulatory compliance including Remediation Engineer
air permits and CZM consistency determinations, brownfields redevelopment, site remediation, Landscape Architect
and stream restoration. Pre-construction Environmental Assessments (EA) are performed in Environmental Scientists
accordance with NEPA standards for projects with federal grant funding requirements. Civil Designers
Survey crews are equipped with Robotic Total Station systems and Leica Global Positioning GIS Map Specialist
Systems (GPS), capable of obtaining static and real-time kinematic (RTK) observations for the Land Surveyors
most efficient and accurate data. Design staff is supported by state-of-the-art computer and Survey Technician
software facilities (21 CAD stations and five wide-format plotters). Workstations support Survey Field Crews
AutoCAD Civil 3D with enhanced 3D and Building Information Modeling (BIM) smart design
capabilities, ArcGIS 10, and hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software. GIS staff utilize Registrations & Certifications
Professional Engineer
geographic information systems for the display and management of spatial data including
designs, facility data, scientific findings and historical records for efficient project management. Professional Land Surveyor
Professional Wetland Scientist
QA/QC. Each project is under the direct oversight of a firm principal who is responsible for the Prof. Landscape Architect
scope and content of the work and staff assignments. The project manager will implement the Qualified Bog Turtle Surveyor
client’s requirements. This procedure insures a functional and cost-effective product within the Qualified Forest Professional
time and budget criteria established with the client. Quality control is the responsibility of a DNREC E&S | CCR
second professional with the required technical expertise. Cert. Prof. in SW Quality
The principals and associates are registered professionals in DE/MD/PA/NJ, and have 180 years LEED AP
of cumulative experience in the practice of engineering, sciences and surveying, with an Master Watershed Steward
excellent performance record in satisfying clients' needs for innovation, design quality, meeting OSHA HAZWOPER certified
schedules, and performing within both fee and desired construction budgets.
