Aston Township Municipal Complex

Location: Aston Township, Pennsylvania

Design Statement: The new Aston Township Municipal
Complex is a contemporary two-story, 22,000 SF public
building, located within the expansive Aston Community
Center Park. It shares the space with the existing
Community Center and Library, Smiles playground,
multiple ball fields, and a new amphitheater. The new
building will serve as the municipal hub for Aston
Township, housing the Police Department and township
administration offices. Its placement on the site reinforces
the “Village Green” and the campus. Designed to be inviting
and recognizable, the building features a prominent
entrance and two-story lobby that welcomes visitors to
the new building and the larger campus and surrounding
park. Inspired by the neighboring Community Center and
Library, the material palette creates a cohesive campus
feel for Aston Township. Additionally, the municipal
complex includes a state-of-the-art, 1,500-square-foot
Commissioners’ Meeting Room capable of accommodating
over 70 seats for public meetings. The Aston Township
Municipal Complex strives to be a beacon to the
community, acting as a gateway to the larger campus.
