Location: New Castle, Delaware

Design Statement: Bernardon provided architectural and
interior design services and coordinated civil, structural,
mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering
disciplines for a new 43,000 SF Department of Motor
Vehicles inspection facility. The approximately 22,000 SF
main building contains customer service counters, waiting
areas, and associated administrative and support spaces.
Employee amenity spaces occupy the area between the
administrative wing and the portion of the building that
houses the inspection lanes. A small building opposite the
main building towards the southwest contains motorcycle
storage. The project has received Silver certification
under the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
